    Flying in a Tiger Moth planes is a completely unique thrill that will transport you back to the golden age of aviation. The two seater aircraft has an open cockpit that allows you to feel the wind rushing past and admire unobstructed panoramic views from the sky. It’s something you need to tick off your bucket list, and Australia’s Hunter Valley region is the perfect place to do it. 

    First you’ll get geared up in all the authentic vintage flying gear, including a leather jacket, helmet, goggles and, of course, a flying scarf. There will be opportunities for pictures with the aircraft - a VH-BBC built in 1945 and immaculately restored - then it’s time to board the Tiger Moth plane with an experienced pilot, ready for your 60 minute scenic flight. 

    Taking off from Pokolbin you’ll enjoy unbeatable views from the cockpit of rolling hills of vineyards, Hunter Valley Gardens, The Vintage Golf Course, Crowne Plaza Resort and plenty more. This is an unforgettable flying experience that will get your heart racing, and it’s an incredible way to see one of the most beautiful regions in Australia.

    Fitness and Experience

    • There is no age limit for this experience, however there are a weight limits due to safety restraints which usually accommodate the average sized 8 year old through to a 120kg Adult
    • You must be agile enough to climb on board the wing and cockpit

    What to Bring/Wear

    • Comfortable clothing 
    • No high heels
    • Skirts and dresses may not be suitable
    • Enclosed shoes are preferable

    What is Supplied

    • 15 minute scenic joy flight in a Tiger Moth biplane
    • Pre-flight safety briefing by expert pilots and ground crew
    • Use of vintage flight gear including leather jackets, helmet, goggles and flying scarf
    • Witness a hand-start of the engine

    More Information

    • The aircraft is limited to one passenger and the pilot per flight
    • Family and friends can watch the departure and arrival from the observation area at the airfield
    • This experience is not available until end of October 2022, due to Cessnock Airport runway works and upgrades.
