Enjoy an epic day trip from Melbourne to Phillip Island, packed full of amazing wildlife and nature experiences. On your way out of Melbourne you’ll start your tour at Koala Wildlife Park, where you can get up close and personal with some of your favourite Australian native animals. Get your picture taken with a koala or hand feed kangaroos and wallabies (both at own expense), and the proceeds go towards the onsite animal hospital.
Then you’ll head over to Phillip Island, which is one of the most popular destinations in Victoria for its stunning natural beauty, pristine beaches, and unique wildlife. Check out the rugged coastal cliffs and Australia’s largest Fur Seal colony at Seal Rocks and along Nobbies coastal boardwalks. Depending on the weather, you might also stop to see the incredible surf at Woolamai Beach.
On Phillip Island you’ll also visit the World Wildlife Fund's interactive Antarctic Journey, which is a fun, technological and informative experience. The augmented reality and virtual exhibition of Antarctica’s nature and wildlife is seriously impressive!
Finally, and potentially a tour highlight, is the award-winning Penguin Parade Visitor Centre, where you can watch the world’s smallest penguins waddle back to their burrows from their day at sea. Phillip Island is home to a colony of over 30,000 little penguins and it’s one of the most popular tourist attractions in Victoria. It’s something you need to see for yourself!
