Hike through pristine alpine wilderness and to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko during this exciting four day expedition, with transfers from Sydney or Canberra. You'll walk 25km along the ridge line of Australia's highest mountain range, spend two nights in a luxury chalet at the Lake Crakenback Resort and one night camping in the heart of Kosciuszko National Park, enjoy all meals and make use of a 45L expedition pack.
After a private transfer, you will begin your adventure at Lake Crakenback Resort. Take the day to explore one of Australia’s most stunning natural playgrounds before meeting your mountain guides for an equipment and safety briefing. At sunset, enjoy a three course dinner alongside your fellow expedition team. Day two sees you tackle 13km through the Kosciuszko National Park, descending down valleys, jumping across the Snowy River and hiking up through the cloud line and onto the main ridge line where you'll be rewarded with uninterrupted views of the Great Dividing Range. Your guides will teach you basic trekking and remote navigation techniques to ensure you're up to the task. Set up camp at Wilkinsons Creek and spend the night sleeping under the stars.
On day three, you will hike to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko, the highest peak in Australia standing at 2228 metres. Take a moment to celebrate your amazing feat and revel in the breathtaking scenery that surrounds. The trail back to Lake Crackenback Resort is an easy down-hill trail, a welcome relief to sore legs. On your last day, you're free to explore the alpine region at your own leisure. The return shuttle departs at 10am.
