Your half day canyoning tour kicks off with a 20 minute scenic walk along the Cradle Valley Boardwalk. Journey through Cradle Mountain’s lush gum forests and button grass plains, all the way to the opening of the canyon. Here, you’ll change into your canyoning gear and be briefed by your expert guides on the exciting action ahead.
Once you’ve walked into Lost World Canyon you’ll follow Dove River downstream over small rapids, rocks, and obstacles. You can either float down the river, navigate on foot, or a combination of both, but being able to swim is not essential. The natural playground will present plenty of opportunities for you to jump, walk, swim, float and slide as you make your way downstream, and get a taste for the thrill of canyoning.
Along the way your expert guide will pause at sights of natural and historical significance, so you can learn things like how the valley was formed and how locals used the waterway to their advantage back in the day. But mostly, this half day canyoning experience is all about getting active and out in nature, so prepare to come home feeling exhilarated and probably exhausted.
