I had never heard of canyoning before, but it was so incredibly rewarding. Doing a trust fall into a mini lake, paddling through the water with my super inflatable backpack and climbing over rocks was so much fun. I was really proud that I did the optional high drop, and the abseil down the waterfall was the best way to finish it off.
What you can expect
Test your limits and go over the edge with this thrilling full day abseiling and canyoning adventure in the spectacular Blue Mountains near Sydney.
This Blue Mountains abseiling and canyoning tour is suitable for all levels of ability and no experience is necessary. You'll begin with the basics of learning to abseil before taking on 6-8 single pitch abseils around the exciting rock faces throughout the Blue Mountains. You'll start at a 5m abseil and then work your way up to a 30m abseil.
In the afternoon after a delicious lunch, you'll travel to Wentworth Falls for a full briefing and to don your canyoning gear, including a harness, helmet and wetsuit. Then it's short walk down through pristine bushland until you enter the canyon.
Experience the thrill of making your way through the canyon and taking on the varying terrains. Depending on the water levels along the way you will be walking, wading, swimming, jumping and sliding all the way to the dramatic end of the canyon - Empress Falls. Empress Falls is a 30m waterfall and the only way down is to abseil! Abseiling down the waterfall is an incredible adrenaline rush and unforgettable experience.

What To Bring
- Comfortable clothing which you don't mind getting wet
- Old running shoes, joggers or trainers which you don't mind getting wet
- Swimming attire
- Dry clothing to change into afterwards
- Change of footwear (thongs or sandals are good, to be left on the bus)
- Towel
- 1 litre of water
- Rain jacket (check weather)
- Sunscreen, sunglasses and hat are recommended
- Hair ties for long hair
- Please leave valuables at home
Terms And Conditions
- Full training is provided so no experience necessary however we do recommend that you are not afraid of heights
- Minimum age is 10
- A moderate level of fitness is required
- Please note if you are under 18 you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
- You must be able to swim
- Canyoning is a warm weather activity, the season runs from September to May
- Depending on availability the canyon will be either Empress Falls or Grand Canyon in summer months. In winter months, canyon will be Juggler Canyon.
- Juggler Canyon has no swims but lots of fun abseils
- This is a full day experience
