Venture off road on a half day 4WD and kayak tour of Bribie Island, leaving the bitumen behind for remote beaches, a tea tree lagoon and the WWII bunkers of Fort Bribie. Your professional driver and guide takes the wheel from the moment you set off, powering along the sand and cutting through untouched bushland as the island opens up around you. First stop is Norfolk Lagoon, where you swap four wheels for a kayak and paddle across its tea tree waters.
Then it's back in the 4WD and heading north to Fort Bribie, where you wander through the wartime bunkers that once formed part of Australia's coastal defences while your guide brings the island's military history to life. On the drive back, scan the shoreline for dolphins and kangaroos and, with a bit of luck, baby turtles scrambling toward the ocean. With a small group, all equipment included and water and snacks on hand, you can focus on the sand, the paddle and the stories. Buckle up, grab a paddle and go find Bribie's wild side.
