What you can expect

Learn to sail or take your skills to the next level with this exciting full day adventure course on board a yacht. You'll spend the day getting plenty of practical sailing experience while you explore Brisbane's beautiful Moreton Bay.

Jump on board an amazing 40 foot yacht ready for an action-packed day of sailing. You'll learn to steer the yacht, master ropes and knots, how to work the sails and winches, how to use the compass, and safety on board. Your instructor will also take you through some knowledge of charts and what the buoys and beacons mean. This is all while sailing around amazing coastal areas like Moreton Bay. Get ready for heaps of hands-on experience, a fun day, and as a bonus the course counts towards the RYA Competent Crew Course.

Time

  • This experience is available most Saturdays and Sundays and goes from 9am-4pm.

Departure Location

  • This sailing experience departs from the East Coast Marina at Manly, in Brisbane's East.

What To Bring

  • Covered and white-soled are required
  • Shirt with a collar for sun protection
  • Change of clothes
  • A jumper is advised
  • Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
  • Please bring own lunch. Water bottles can be refilled onboard

Terms And Conditions

  • Participants 16 years and under must be accompanied by a paying parent/guardian
  • No previous experience is necessary and for those who have sailed before, this is a great refresher or an ideal way to get more experience on the water
  • There will be a minimum of three and a maximum of five student sailors on board, so you'll get plenty of practice on all the apparatus
  • Instructors are all RYA/ YA qualified with Australian commercial qualifications
  • All sailing trips are weather-dependent. Please provide a mobile phone number so that the supplier may contact you on the day of your experience. If cruises are cancelled due to weather, the supplier will contact you ASAP to let you know. Cancelled experiences will be rescheduled for a later date.

Cancellation Policy

  • Change your booking up to 14 days before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 14 days of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
