Crank up the excitement with a high-energy rafting session on the Barron River—just 20 minutes from Cairns. This half-day adventure throws you straight into the action, carving through Grade 2–3 rapids in the heart of Barron Gorge National Park.
Surrounded by towering cliffs and dense rainforest, you’ll battle swirling currents, sudden drops, and fast-flowing water as you ride the river’s natural rollercoaster. With up to two hours on the water, it’s the perfect hit of adrenaline.
Led by expert guides and fully equipped with all safety gear, you’ll be part of a crew that’s ready to charge through the rapids and soak up every splash. This experience is suitable for ages 12 and up, making it an exciting ride for families, groups, or anyone chasing a serious thrill in Tropical North Queensland. Get ready to grip your paddle, lean into the rapids, and let the river do the rest.

What To Bring
- Swimwear under your clothes
- Secure shoes - reef sandals, sneakers or anything with an ankle strap is suitable, and shoes are available for hire if you don't want to get your own shoes wet
- Bring a change of clothes and a towel
- A $35 per person rafting levy is applicable to all participants payable on the day
Terms And Conditions
- Minimum age is 12 years for Barron River Rafting
- Participants under 18 years of age will need to have a medical waiver signed by their parent/guardian prior to travel
- Prior to your rafting trip you will be required to complete a medical questionnaire and sign a liability waiver
- You do not need to be able to swim to participate as you will be fitted with a life jacket before the tour
- A moderate level of fitness is required
- This tour is not ideal for spectators as you will only be able to see the start and the finish point
- Tours run with a maximum of seven participants plus your guide in each raft
- Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to their policy
- Return accommodation transfers from Cairns are available at an additional cost
Cancellation Policy
- Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
- 50% refund for cancellations made within 48hours of tour departure
- No refund for cancellations made within 24hours of departure
