Get ready for an unforgettable adventure just 20 minutes from the heart of Cairns City in the stunning Barron Gorge National Park. Famous for its rugged rainforest mountains, dramatic ravines, and the awe-inspiring Barron Falls, this natural wonder has been sculpted over millennia by the mighty Barron River. Join us for a fun half-day white water rafting tour along the Barron River. As the river winds its way down from the mountains, you'll experience a perfect blend of calm water drifting and exciting white water rapids. This scenic rafting adventure offers both tranquillity and excitement in the heart of the rainforest. Our enthusiastic team are experienced professionals and excited to welcome you aboard our rafts and get you on the water! They’re passionate about what they do and will make sure you leave the river with a massive smile on your dial.
The Barron Rafting Half Day Tour is an ideal introduction to white water rafting, providing fun and excitement for everyone. Enjoy up to two hours of rafting on rapids up to class 3.

- $30 per person Rafting Insurance Levy payable on the day of the tour
- Transfers from Port Douglas hotels
Departure Location
- Self-Drive option: Meet at the Lake Placid Tourist Park, Lake Placid Rd by 2.30 pm (returns at approx. 5.30 pm).
- Cairns Pick-Up option: Hotel pick-ups commence at approx. 2 pm and return at approx. 6 pm.
What To Bring
- Swimwear under your clothes
- Secure shoes - reef sandals, sneakers or anything with an ankle strap is suitable, and shoes are available for hire if you don't want to get your own shoes wet
- Bring a change of clothes and a towel
- A $35 per person rafting levy is applicable to all participants payable on the day
Terms And Conditions
- Minimum age is 13 years
- Participants under 18 years of age will need to have a medical waiver signed by their parent/guardian prior to travel
- Prior to your rafting trip you will be required to complete a medical questionnaire and sign a liability waiver
- You do not need to be able to swim to participate as you will be fitted with a life jacket before the tour
- A moderate level of fitness is required
- This tour is not ideal for spectators as you will only be able to see the start and the finish point
- Tours run with a maximum of seven participants plus your guide in each raft
- Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to their policy
- Return accommodation transfers from Cairns are available at an additional cost
Cancellation Policy
- Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
- Late arrivals or no-shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
