Become the diver everyone wants as a buddy on a two-day SSI Diver Stress and Rescue course at Moore Reef, Cairns. Work through realistic rescue scenarios with a specialist instructor across five training dives. Learn to recognise stress in yourself and others, prevent incidents and respond effectively when they occur. Practise essential rescue techniques, from assisting a distressed diver at the surface to managing an unconscious diver, before finishing with a fun dive.

Widely regarded as one of the most rewarding courses a diver can take, this course helps divers build confidence, awareness and problem-solving skills in the water. Earn certification to 18 metres (nine metres for the unconscious diver skill), with your digital card delivered via the SSI app. The course also contributes towards SSI Master Diver recognition.

Open Water certification and current Oxygen Provider, First Aid and CPR qualifications completed within the past two years are required for certification.

An Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent) is required to participate
All divers must complete the RSTC Diver Medical Questionnaire
A "yes" answer requires a doctor-signed Physician's Evaluation before travel
Participants must complete the required online rescue orientation before arrival
The online orientation is completed independently on a smartphone, tablet or computer prior to the course
Proof of Open Water Diver certification must be provided on the day of the course
Current Oxygen Provider, First Aid and CPR qualifications are required for certification
Proof of Oxygen Provider, First Aid and CPR qualifications must be provided before certification can be issued
