What you can expect
Get certified to dive in open water of up to 18 metres Plenty of opportunity to practise your dives Learn from a fully qualified PADI instructor Enjoy the weightless experience of exploring the underwater world on the Gold Coast. Learn to add adventure to every travel destination through the exciting world of scuba diving.
This PADI open water course has three segments that are all completed together over the three-day course:
- Academic training- this gives you the basic principles and knowledge you need for safe and enjoyable diving.
- Confined water training - here you will be taught the basic skills of diving at waist depth and getting comfortable with equipment.
- Open Water training - allowing you to demonstrate your skills and practice them in a typical diving environment.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded the PADI Open Water Certification card enabling you to dive anywhere throughout the world to depth down to a maximum of 18 metres and hire equipment from dive stores. This certification will be valid for life.

Operating Hours
- Please allow three half days
- Day 1: Session starts based to the scheduled time.
- Day 2 onwards: Session will begin earlier at 6:00 a.m.
Location
- This course is tun by the Queensland Scuba Diving Company and will take place at Chevron Island 19 Karloo Street, Surfers Paradise 4217
Departure Location
- This experience departs at 19 Karloo Street, Surfers Paradise QLD. Please arrange transfers directly with provider. We recommend that customers make their own way to our dive shop at Main Beach so that they will have time to explore the Marina, shops, and local area after their dive or snorkel. Our Dive shop is a 5min Uber ride from Surfers Paradise, the local bus stops at the marina and we have a free car park for customers
Terms And Conditions
- This experience will run in wet weather (you're going to get wet anyway). If the provider cancels due to dangerous weather, you will have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.
- Please note, there will be other participants on this group experience on the day.
- You must be fit to scuba dive
- You must be fit to scuba dive. If you are unsure, please consult your GP
- You will require a completed diving medical statement
- You must not fly on the same day as your dive
- You must be aged 10+ to dive
Cancellation Policy
- Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
- Late arrivals or no-shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
