Know Before You Go: Skydiving

Eyeing off the biggest thrill of all? Yeah, we don’t blame you. If you’re ready to book a skydive, our Crew have put together their top tips. Here’s what you should know before you go skydiving.

Go for lightweight clothes

Don’t wear anything too heavy. You’ll be given a suit to put on when you turn up, so you want to make sure the clothes underneath are comfy. Tights or trackies with a t-shirt is the way to go.

Wear sneakers

Wear enclosed shoes. Losing a shoe isn’t fun – but it’s even worse at 10,000ft (good luck finding it). The wind is pretty intense at 200km/h and any loose items like shoes will fly off. We say play it safe with some sneakers or flat boots.

Pull back your hair

You know how your hair goes crazy in the wind? Well, it's even worse when you’re freefalling from a plane. If you’ve got long hair, do yourself a favour and pull it back. The views are unreal, and you won’t want to miss a thing, so putting it in a bun or pony will keep it out of your face.

Eat something light a few hours before

You might think you're playing it safe by not eating but trust us – skydiving on an empty stomach is not it. But then again, eating a big meal can also make you sick. Go in between with a light feed a few hours in the lead-up. This will make sure you won’t get too sick but will also stop you from getting dizzy.

Just breathe!

Falling out of the sky sounds terrifying, we get it. But trust us, it is so worth it. You’re in a controlled environment with a trained professional who knows what they are doing. The six or seven minutes down goes by super quick so ignore the head noise and just relax so you can soak it all in. Remember, you can always book it in again.
