Melbourne is without a doubt the home of horse racing in Australia, with many prominent events, raceways and champion horses having trampled the turf in the sporting capital of the country. The region is also renowned for its wineries and beer, so what better way to gain a sense of appreciation of everything Melbourne has to offer than this tour that combines the best elements of all the above? Including three main stages, with visits to: Woodlands Historic Park, home to our favourite retired champion race horses such as* Fields of Omagh, Might and Power, Silent Witness, Better Loosen Up, Rogan Josh, Brew and Paris Lane.. . Meet the horses, watch kangaroos in their natural environment, and enjoy morning tea in the homestead/museum. Then head to the Macedon Ranges to enjoy a wood-fired pizza lunch and wine tastings at the Gisborne Peak Winery. The last stop of the day is Holgate's Brewery, a country pub with a range of classic beer styles, full in flavour and rich in character. See a microbrewery in action and taste the range of beers on offer. Afterwards you'll have time to meander down the main street of beautiful Woodend or sit by the fire in the beer garden and enjoy another brew.
