What you can expect
Have you ever wanted to find out what your car is really capable of? Here's your chance to do it, safely and legally. This track day at Sandown Raceway lets you drive your own vehicle around this famous racing circuit, with no limits, speed cameras or cops to slow you down.
Your experience begins with a briefing on safety, track etiquette and a meet and greet with your driving coaches. Then it's onto the circuit with some familiarisation laps with an instructor at the wheel. Learn the lines, watch the apexes - as it'll be you behind the wheel next! You will be encouraged to drive to the limits of your ability, and your car's.
Drivers are allocated 20 minutes of track time per hour, and coaches are on-hand throughout the day to offer as much advice as you like. For safety's sake, the events are strictly non-competitive and are set up to improve your skills at driving fast on a racing circuit.

Time
- Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time
- You will be at the track for a full day 8:30am - 4pm

What To Bring
- Your own car with full tank of fuel, correct water levels and tyre pressures - a service is recommended prior to arriving
- Helmet, or hire one of ours on the day for an extra cost
- Full driver's licence is required, and you will need to present this on the day
- Sensible footwear, i.e. no high heels, sandals, or thongs
- A bottle of water to drink throughout the day
- A baseball cap/protection from the sun
Additional Information
- Lunch and refreshments are provided for drivers only - spectators can purchase drinks on site.
- Spectators are welcome Please read carefully the Supplementary Regulations:
- All participants in the event are to be aware that they accept the fact that they are to drive their vehicle in a safe manner on the circuit as directed.
- Under no circumstances are participants to race, time laps, or participate in any activity/behaviour which may lead to, or cause an accident.
- Personal accident and ambulance insurance is the responsibility of the individual. Vehicle insurers should be consulted to determine the level of comprehensive cover while participating in this event.
- All participants (drivers and guests) are required to complete an indemnity form before participating in the event. Warning: the indemnity is an important document that affects your legal rights and obligations. Please read it carefully and do not sign it unless you are satisfied you understand it. If you decide not to sign the indemnity documents, you will not be permitted to participate in the event.
- All drivers are required to attend the compulsory morning briefing before driving on the track. This reinforces the rules for the day, the daily schedule, and all other necessary information. Late drivers will not be allowed onto the circuit until being briefed by the organiser or an instructor.
- All vehicles intended to be used must be in a roadworthy and safe condition.
- The organiser will have final say over the structure and running of all "on track" activities. No debate will be entered into.
- No overtaking on the circuit except for the main straights only. Drivers are educated during the theory and practical sessions which side of the track to remain whilst being overtaken.
- No passenger rides. No driver is allowed to take any other person in their car as a passenger unless it is an instructor.
- No timing of any laps. The organisers do not provide any timing equipment and also disallow any personal stopwatches or lap timers.
- No competitive/aggressive/unnecessary driving is tolerated. This type of driving will result in the driver being flagged off the circuit and asked to retire from the day.
- An Australian Safety Standards Approved helmet must be worn at all times whilst driving on the track. Nonsynthetic "neck to wrist to ankles" clothing must also be worn whilst driving on the track.
- Participants are to report to the Medical Officer after any incident. Participants are to report to the event organiser prior to any further action. Participants are not to return to the circuit without the clearance of all of the above.
- It is your responsibility to ensure your safety and that the track ahead of you is safe to drive on. Observe for problems on or near the track including dirt/dust, gravel, stopped vehicles, slowing vehicles, and other hazards
- Drivers are advised to place their foot firmly on the brake pedal in the event of a spin. Do not try to "drive out" of the spin
- Drivers should see the event organiser regarding any further issues during the event.
- Note that Sandown Raceway runs in an anticlockwise direction, under no circumstances are participants to drive on the circuit in a clockwise direction.
- Participants will be required to cover the cost of any damage that they cause to the Sandown circuit in the event of an accident.
- Sandown Raceway has very strict noise requirements. All vehicles must not exceed the noise emission levels of 75 dba. Vehicles are measured by a noise meter, 30 metres from the near side of the track on the west & east sides. If your car is too noisy you will be flagged off the circuit immediately and not allowed back on the circuit until your exhaust system is made quiet.
Terms And Conditions
- Not suitable for pregnant persons
- You must be fully licensed to do this activity
- The venue has a strict noise restriction of 75db measured 30 metres from the track. Most road registered vehicles are not an issue
- This experience is not affected by light rain, however, if the weather conditions are not suitable, the event may be rescheduled for a later date. If you have any concerns, please contact the supplier.
- There will be up to 45 other people present on the day and up to 15 people driving on the track at any one time
- Please advise the make/model/registration/colour of the car you will be bringing on the day and if you need to hire a helmet on the day at the time of booking
- If you do not attend on your scheduled date, regardless of reason, your position is classed as a forfeit
- Participants will not be recredited if their cars are too noisy or if they retire early due to an accident or mechanical fault.
Cancellation Policy
- Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
