What you can expect
The Penguin Passport is your ticket to a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium's sub-Antarctic penguin colony.
Suited up in your Antarctic snow gear, the 45 minute tour takes you onto the ice where you have the exclusive opportunity to be among majestic King and cheeky Gentoo penguins. You will also have the opportunity to see food preparation and veterinary areas, as well as how the state-of-the-art exhibit maintains sub-zero temperatures.

How It Works
- There are 4 spots available per session, with 1 guide for the group
Inclusions
- 45 minute behind-the-scenes experience at SEA LIFE Melbourne Penguin exhibit
- Boots, jackets and pants will be provided
- On ice experience with the sub-Antarctic penguin colony
- General admission to Melbourne Aquarium
Time
- Operates Monday - Sunday at 2:00pm
- You are required to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your tour departure
- SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium is open from 10:00 till 5:30 on weekdays. During weekends and school holidays, open from 9:30am to 6:00pm. Please print your Adrenalin booking confirmation and take it with you on the day.
What To Bring
- Participant must bring their own socks, and not be wearing a dress or skirt
Additional Information
- No children under the age of 14
- Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
- No contact with other birds 24 hours prior to visit
- No gastro/flu/cold/respiratory symptoms within the last 48 hours of tour
- Participant must be physically fit and able to walk up and down stairs and around the icy terrain
- Participants must not have any open cuts or wounds
- Participant must not have any pre-existing knee, pelvic or back injuries
- Jewellery and any other loose items are not permitted
- Cameras and mobile phones are not permitted
- Participants must wear all safety clothing provided
- Participants must be able to understand and speak English as translators will not be provided
- Experience may be cancelled at short notice due to husbandry requirements
