To prepare for the plunge, fully qualified instructors will run you through an introductory briefing and a scuba skills training session. Equipped with a wetsuit and the essential diving gear, you’ll step into a 2.2 million litre Oceanarium for a thrilling 25 to 30-minute dive.

Come face to face with breathtaking Tawny Nurse Sharks, Grey Speartooth Sharks and Leopard Sharks. Admire marine life like exotic fish, Green Sea Turtles and rays swim past. Bring friends and family to watch and capture your dive from the viewing tunnel. Enjoy the ultimate up-close perspective on magnificent marine creatures and the lions of the sea.

IMPORTANT ARRIVAL TIMES
10:00am/11:00am - Divers are required on site at 8:45am for a safety briefing/induction
2:30pm/3:30pm - Divers are required on site at 1:15pm for a safety briefing/induction
Scuba Diving is physically demanding and can be dangerous if you suffer from certain medical conditions. It is very important that you, the diver, do not suffer from any contraindications to diving
All divers must read and complete our medical declaration questionnaire prior to booking. Once it has been completed, divers must send through a copy to our bookings team at experiences@melbourneaquarium.com.au for review https://www.visitsealife.com/melbourne/media/vkjnpuhp/sdx-medical-declaration.pdf?
DO NOT drink alcohol the night before your dive
DO NOT fly in an aircraft within 12 hours after you dive
You MUST have a reasonable degree of swimming ability
If you are pregnant, or planning to become pregnant, please do not book

Terms And Conditions

Participants must be of moderate fitness and able to swim 25m unaided
Minimum age is 14 years
Any participants under 18 years of age must accompanied by a parent/guardian during the pre-dive briefing
If you have a pre-existing condition but still want to dive, you must get doctor's medical clearance form completed. Please contact the provider prior to booking to check if you are able to participate
This experience now requires clearance from a Dive doctor if you have had covid within the last 6 months. There is a 6 week wait to see the dive doctor.
Same day bookings are not allowed
Maximum of 16 participants
If you have a pre-existing condition but still want to dive, you must get doctor's medical clearance form completed
This experience has a maximum of four people per dive

Cancellation Policy

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Great experience for beginners

Wonderful diving experience

The shark dive was a wonderful experience. So many sharks and fish to see. The leopard sharks were very playful. The staff were very professional and made sure that everything was safe with good quality equipment. The aquarium itself is exceptionally well designed, creating the perfect environment for a first-rate shark diving experience.
