White water Rafting with friends
We had an absolute ball. Being out in nature for the day, screaming, laughing and everything in between as we went through rapids. It was awesome to do this experience with a few friends.
What you can expect
Get out for an action-packed day that includes both white water rafting and an underground caving adventure just outside of Melbourne at Wonga park. You'll take on the white water's grade 2 rapids on a 2.5 hour guided adventure before spending two hours exploring the underground caves in the afternoon. Once you meet your guides and the rest of your tour group, you'll be kitted up in safety gear and briefed before setting out on the Yarra River. Tackle a slew of exciting grade 2 rapids, paddling over raging waters and around the twists and turns of the river. Put your white water rafting skills to the test as you take on Bob's Rock and Pinball Rapid.
Then in the afternoon, you'll follow your guide into the unique granite boulder cave, geared up with a torch and safety equipment as you explore the pitch black. Manoeuvre your way around huge granite boulders jumbled on top of each other, wade through subterranean rivers, crawl through some tight spaces, scramble and slide over rocks and climb over chasms in this underground world.
You'll explore some tight spaces and hidden caverns, so prepare to get wet and muddy as you make the most of this caving adventure. It can be quite physical, but the adventure is worth it. Plus this is an opportunity to see a unique eco-system of glow worms, cave crickets and fungi along the way.

Operating Hours
- The rafting starts at 10am and the caving starts at 3pm. There is a drive of 45 mins between the locations, you will have to self drive.
- The rafting takes approx 2.5 hours and begins at 10am
- The caving takes approx 2 hours and starts at 3pm
- You should allow yourself the full day for this experience
Departure Location
- This experience is located at Lower homestead road car park, Wonga Park, 45 minutes from Melbourne CBD.
What To Bring
- Closed toed footwear is essential - no sandals
- Three sets of adventure clothes as you will get wet in both activities - One for rafting, one for caving, and a full change of clothes and a towel to go home
- Canyoning clothes will get very dirty
- Preferably no cotton or jeans for kayaking
- Layer up with thermals, fleeces and spray jackets in cooler months
- It's highly recommend that you wear long sleeves and long pants to protect you from scratches
Terms And Conditions
- Maximum weight 110kg per person and you must be able to physically fit through the cave
- Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult
- Kids under 16 are only $10. One $10 child with every paying adult. Additional children will be charged at the adult rate if only one adult is present
- You will be required to carry the kayak a short distance from the vehicle to the river
- You must have a moderate level of fitness
- You will be required to crawl on your hands and knees, slide over rocks during the caving experience - not suitable for those with knee and back issues
- Generally, the weather does not affect the rafting or caving however if lightning, fire or severe wind are apparent the tour provider may postpone the activity. You can be rescheduled.
Cancellation Policy
- Changes to your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience will incur a $15 per person rebooking fee, this includes under 16's
- Changes to your booking within 7 days before the start time of your experience will incur a $30 per person rebooking fee, this includes under 16's
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

WHITE WATER RAFTING ON THE YARRA
What an absolute blast, especially for a Sunday morning. The drive to the site was wonderous and in perfect weather. The Guide was welcoming and carefully explained what we were going to do. My partner and I didn't really expect to be taken out of our comfort zones, yet we certainly were. The adrenaline was flowing when we hit the first rapids and didn't come down until well after we finished the run. We are both in our 60's and quite fit, but the efforts were challenging. The smiles have not left our faces. Yes, an absolute blast. A very well run adventure.
