Hot air balloon Adventure
I went on this adventure of hot air ballooning over Northam for my Birthday. It was a truely magical experience and I can’t wait to enjoy another ultimately wonderful peaceful balloon ride again. Nothing better than starting the day and seeing the sun rise!
What you can expect
Reach thrilling heights and soak in unbeatable views of the Avon Valley in this sunrise hot air balloon flight. For about one hour you'll enjoy the excitement of flying on the wind high above the countryside, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Avon Valley National Park landscapes below. After touching back down you'll be treated to a delicious breakfast to top off your adventure.
Your ballooning adventure begins before sunrise, when you'll be driven from the meeting point in Northam to the hot air balloon launch site. If you want to get involved in the action you can help out with the inflation of the balloon and some other tasks or just stand back and get excited for take-off. Once inside the basket, you'll be taken through a safety briefing before gently floating off the ground and soaring high above the incredible Western Australian landscape. Watch the sun rise over Avon Valley's stunning rural landscapes, rolling hills and winding streams.
After the flight, have the chance to help with the balloon deflation before returning to Northam for a well-deserved breakfast. This is an unforgettable experience that's absolutely worth getting up early for.

Time
- Meeting times in Northam are between 4:00am - 5:30am depending on the season booked
- Flight times may vary due to weather and the time of year the flight is taken. Please await confirmation from the experience provider prior to your flight as to what the actual flight time will be
Duration
- Please allow approximately four hours for this experience, from the meeting time until your return
- The actual flight time is approximately one hour in duration
Departure Location
- The meeting location is located at 112 Fitzgerald St E, Northam 6401 at the Dome Cafe.
- Northam is just under 100km from Perth and driving there will take around one hour and 20 minutes.
- If you use public transport you will need to travel the day before your flight. There is a bus and a train service from Perth to Northam running from East Perth Station.
What To Bring
- Casual comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather conditions
- Shoes must be flat and enclosed - no high heels or open toed shoes permitted
- Hat/Beanie and sunglasses
Additional Information
- This experience runs with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 22 participants
- Spectators are welcome to come, and watch take off as long as they can travel independently to launch and landing sites
Terms And Conditions
- Minimum age is six years
- Pregnant women over 20 weeks are not permitted to fly
- Participant weight range goes up to 130kg
- Participants must be able to get into the basket
- Unfortunately, people who use a wheelchair cannot currently be catered for
Cancellation Policy
- Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Afraid of heights? This is for you!!
What a fantastic experience! I am extremely afraid of heights and was perfectly fine on this flight! Our Pilot Pete and crew (Thor and Josh) were amazing and super helpful with the hot air balloon journey. I would highly recommend this to anyone, even if you have a fear of heights the feeling is like no other!
