If your biggest wish is to fly like a bird, look no further. Stretch your wings and soar in silent flight 1000 meters from the ground on a Perth-based gliding introductory experience. With a bird’s eye view, you’ll see Western Australia’s Heartland region from breathtaking angles, often circling in the same thermal air currents as the local wedge-tailed eagles. On the day, east of Perth in the Heartland region, one of our robust planes will tow you and your gliding instructor approximately 1000 meters into the air before you commence the magical world of silent flight. Comfortably sat in our well-designed glider’s fully-enclosed cockpit, you’ll find inner peace while being able to capture awesome aerial pictures and videos. Gliding through the sky like a bird, you can soak up the freedom of flying, or learn the basics of flying and even try taking the controls for yourself! Your glide will last between 20 and minutes depending on weather conditions, and your instructor will land the glider gently back at the Beverley airfield, where you will be greeted by any spectators you choose to bring along. Bring a picnic, enjoy a cold drink at the airfield, and spend the day exploring the beauty you saw from the sky that the WA Heartland has to offer. We run gliding experiences in Beverley, WA from 11am until sunset every Friday, Saturday and Sunday (except Christmas Day). Please note: price quoted per person. Your Perth gliding instructor will be with you at all times during flight. All bookings are weather dependant – gliding will not commence during rain, low cloud, thunderstorms or extreme winds. Contact your experience provider on the day to confirm whether your flight will proceed. You must sign a waiver prior to beginning your gliding experience.
