A Must-Do Experience

Be aware there is quite a long drive on a gravel road to get to Baird Bay. It is well maintained and easily navigated - no need for a 4WD. When you get to Baird Bay, you need to drive about 150m along the beach which is very firm and manageable in our small SUV. We had the most amazing time! I was very nervous about wearing a wetsuit, and ALL the associated accessories, but I was incredibly glad for it when we got into the shallow but icy waters! It was a 42° day when we were there and the water was bitterly cold! When you're in the water with the seals, it's shallow and you have to listen carefully to instructions and remember the safety rules. It's totally worth it though, to be close to these curious and funny animals is truly a memorable experience. You can't kick which makes movement a bit tricky, but you soon figure out how to manoeuvre! After swimming with the seals we boarded the boat and were offered hot Milo and lamingtons. A quick trip out to much deeper and choppier waters brought us to the dolphins. They were everywhere!! They really loved swimming under us and looking up as we looked down! Be warned, this part is very deep and the swell was manageable but required a lot more physicality- use your snorkel!! You don't have to get into the water and if you do, you can signal the skipper if you've had enough. The staff were absolutely amazing from the moment we arrived and the two course lunch at the end of the day was delicious. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this to EVERYONE!

The most magical experience, leaving you speechless.

Absolutely incredible. The tour is worth every cent to experience swimming with seals and dolphins who put on the most spectacular show. We were lucky to have been surrounded by several pods of 30 plus dolphins, which was absolutely breathtaking - and will continue to be remembered as one of the most surreal moments experienced. The wildlife are super intrigued, and become very interactive, swimming and twirling next to you. We were so blessed to have beautiful weather, friendly marine life and great tour guides (especially Emma!). Thank you
