Amazing Adventure
Had an amazing 4WD sandboarding experience in Port Stephens with my mum and partner. The dunes were stunning, the ride was fun, and we laughed nonstop sandboarding. Great guides and perfect for all ages—highly recommend!
Staff are great! Pace yourself!
Staff were great!!! We were drawn to sand-boarding because we have snowboarded before and they had pictures of people with bindings on the boards, boarding. I rang after paying to check that I?d definitely be able to board not just sit down. The lady on the phone said the board has a block for your feet but not bindings like in some of the photos I saw. This was disappointing and they should probably make sure there?s no photos where people can be mislead. We also didn?t realise that the dune was huge/bigger than the ones the other companies go to which you think ?awesome? BUT you exhaust yourself so much just getting to the top that you only want to go down a few times and you?re done, making you feel like it?s not worth the money. It?s great that they say you can stay as long as you please because if you?re willing to rest under cover and pace yourself, you?ll get your moneys worth. If I had the time I would have brought a bit of food and cold drinks to spend longer there and pace myself. The 4WD part didn?t last long. We got there quite fast. Recommend making a day of it and pacing yourself.
What you can expect
Join this off-road 4WD adventure in Port Stephens and enjoy endless hours of fun sandboarding down the Stockton Sand Dunes. Meet at Birubi Beach and travel in off-road vehicles along the 32 km stretch of beach to admire the impressive dunes that can reach 30 metres high. When you arrive, standby for a sandboarding lesson and learn the basics before you begin the climb to the top of the dunes. Take a moment to catch your breath and admire the impressive views and then jump on your board and zoom down the dunes as many times as you wish. This simple activity is easy for anyone to master and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. The tour includes unlimited sandboarding and helpful staff are always nearby to assist you if needed. Regular shuttles run to and from Birubi Beach to the sand dunes every 30 minutes between 10am and 3.30pm. Simply catch the next shuttle back to Birubi Beach when you are finished. - Your pass offers unlimited sandboarding, stay and play as long as you like. For most people, this is about 1 to 1.5 hours
Departure Location
- The first bus leaves at 10 am with shuttles leaving every half an hour until 3.30 pm.
- If a session you want to book is not listed, please call our customer care team.
- Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the departure time on the day of your booking. We cannot guarantee the bus will be able to wait for you if you are late
- Open 365 days a year, even on Christmas Day

Sweet trails in the sand
Super fun day. Good sand, fun ride, good slide, helpful staff, and an area set up for shade. We spent two hours chasing up the sand dunes and boarding down.
