What you can expect

Get out on the water for an exhilarating whale watching sailing adventure See humpback whales up close on their migration past Port Stephens Look out for other marine life like dolphin pods and more

Feel the thrill of seeing majestic whales up close in their natural environment on this epic whale watching cruise in Port Stephens. You'll explore the waterways for 3 hours, observing the whales as they make their annual migration north along the Australian east coast. Over 40,000 - 50,000 humpback whales swim past Port Stephens towards to warmer waters of the South Pacific Ocean between May and November each year, and after breeding they migrate with their calves back down south. Seeing these gigantic creatures close up is an exhilarating experience you can't beat. Jump on board and sail the Port Stephens coastal waters on an amazing 54 foot catamaran that is designed for ocean voyages and has a stable platform. You'll be well looked after by the expert staff and crew who will also provide insightful commentary about the whales as you go. While you're out on the water you also have a great opportunity to spot dolphin pods and maybe even fairy penguins, seals, albatross and more. This whale watching tour will have you buzzing the whole time and long after returning to shore. This experience is part of our Low-Footprint Adventures range because it is ECO certified by Ecotourism Australia.

In the event of a ‘miss’ we will issue you with a ‘free return voucher’ to use at a later date Refunds will not be issued We understand that sometimes passengers cannot take up the free return voucher for whatever reason, but we do everything we can to locate whales or dolphins during cruises. The ‘free return’ voucher is valid for 18 months from the original cruise date, thus giving guests every opportunity to ‘try again’ Free Return vouchers are not transferable between guests and vessels. There is no credit refund in the unlikely case that whales are not sited.‘Sea sickness’ can be different for individuals, making it difficult for us to advise on the matter. If you suffer from other types of motion sickness, such as on a plane or car, you might get seasick. PREVENTION is better than CURE. If you have concerns about seasickness we recommend you seek advice from a local pharmacy about preventatives prior to the cruise. We offer motion-sickness prevention for free onboard before the tour, however pharmacists recommend taking tablets 1 hour before a cruise.
