What you can expect
Grow your skiing confidence and experience the thrill of the snow with the first timer package at Cardrona Alpine Resort, designed for those ready to hit the slopes for the very first time. This action-packed beginner experience includes full day group lessons, giving you the skills and confidence to start carving through the snow with expert guidance every step of the way.
Gear up with rental equipment including skis, boots and poles, or snowboard, boots, and wrist guards, then access the learner’s area and conveyor belt to build confidence in a fun and supportive alpine environment. Multi day packages also include an all-mountain lift pass for even more mountain adventure.
After your lesson, ride the McDougall’s Chondola to the top of the mountain for spectacular alpine views before putting your new skiing or snowboarding skills into action on the beginner run or returning to base in warm comfort aboard the gondola.

Itinerary
- 9am - Pick up lift pass and rental equipment
- 10.30am - Group lesson starts
- 1pm - Lunch
- 3.45pm - Group lesson finishes
- Return equipment at the end of the day
- Multi-day packages follow the same lesson schedule each day but include time to independently ski using the all-mountain pass after lessons conclude each day
Time
- Available daily during the ski seasons from 9am
- Please arrive on the mountain at no later than 9am to collect your lift pass
- Lessons start at 10.30am
Duration
- This experience is one to three days in duration depending on the type of package purchased.

- Participants can pick up rental equipment from the following locations:
- The Cardrona store located at the Cardrona Ski Resort
- The Wanaka office located at 50 Cardrona Valley Road, Wanaka 9305
- The Queenstown office located at 37 Camp Street, Queenstown 9300
Departure Location
- This experience takes place at Cardrona Alpine Resort at Cardrona Valley Rd, Cardrona 9305.
Terms And Conditions
- Bookings are essential
- This experience operates in all weather conditions
- An adult lift pass is valid for participants aged 18 to 64 years old
- A child lift pass is valid for participants aged six to 17 years old
- Student and senior discounts are available; a valid ID may be required
- For multiday passes, the time period begins on the first day the pass is activated
- Refunds are not issued for incomplete pass or lesson use
- Please wear clothing suitable to the weather conditions on the day
- Lessons are date specific and must be attended on the assigned date
- The experience provider will issue a confirmation via email, participants will have to present either a printed or digital copy on the day
- Availability was accurate at the time of booking however, is subject to change due to circumstances beyond the experience provider's control
- Lessons are conducted in English, please advise if you are Mandarin speaking at the time of booking
Cancellation Policy
- Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
- This experience is strictly nonrefundable

What a great way to explore the mountain and get in shape for the ski season!
The beginner lesson package was brilliant. Scanning the pass, collecting the gear and attending lessons worked brilliantly. 3 days of skiing lessons means that I am both more comfortable on the slopes and happier to keep coming back!
