Swimming alongside the beautiful and docile Nurse Sharks was surreal. They were so graceful and calm, gliding right past us. Hands down one of the coolest dives I’ve ever done.

Great experience

Loved this experience with the friendly dive team made it a great day, shattered we didn’t get to see any sharks but still had an amazing time scuba diving for the first time! We’ll be back soon for sure

Brilliant, personal and Awe-insipiring

Absolute treat of a day, the sun was blazing and we watched several whales breaching close by on the way to the dive area. We were shown what to do and split into groups of three divers to one instructor so I felt very safe the entire time. We saw only one shark, but tons of fish and other sea life dotted around. All in all, it was a brilliant introducotry dive for anyone heistant about the whole thing. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone!

What you can expect

This shark diving experience is not for the faint-hearted! Face your fears with this thrilling cage-less shark dive in the open waters off Mooloolaba. You'll board a purpose-built glass bottom boat spearheaded by Queensland's only Sea Shepherd Dive partner, who are committed to the preservation of marine habitat and marine life.

On your journey out to the reef you will learn a little about their preservation efforts and the grey nurse shark species. Then it's time to take the plunge and go diving with up to 20 of these majestic creatures and other marine species including fish, corals and turtles. Swimming with sharks is an unbeatable thrill that you need to tick off your bucket list.

Terms And Conditions

This experience runs with a maximum of 12 divers so as to not disturb the sharks
No prior scuba diving experience is necessary, however, extra training (not included) will be required if not a certified diver
Dive will proceed in rain, hail or sunshine, but will be rescheduled if wind exceeds 15 knots or waves exceed 1.5 metres, out of concern for guest safety and quality of experience. You will receive a credit in the event of a dive charter cancellation due to weather
The provider can arrange for a professional photographer to dive with participants and take photos at a cost of $80 which includes an SD card for them to keep
Uncertified divers cannot hire or bring their own camera as uncertified divers must have both hands free in line with OHS regulations
Certified divers can hire a camera for $30 and bring their own SD
Cancellation outside of 48 hours will incur a $20 fee
No cancellations within 48 hours.

Not for beginners

I am extremely disappointed with my recent Ocean Dive with Sharks experience. Despite paying a premium and extra for hiring (Double than advertised.)I was given just two minutes of rushed training and was told by trainer, I could complete it at the dive site. However, upon arrival, the owner rudely informed me I could not dive, citing legal restrictions. The boat lacked the advertised glass bottom, and it was clear there were insufficient trainers for the number of unqualified divers. This experience fell far short of expectations and felt unsuitable for real beginners. A lot of money for just a boat ride. There were a lot of other disappointing elements from other divers in our group.

General Scuba Dive Only

Please note to people looking to purchase: This is advertised as a specific shark dive! it isn't, it just a general scuba dive. No Glass bottom boat as advertised! You may get lucky and see a reef shark, but there's a fair chance you wont! Scuba diving is always good fun and i will always enjoy doing it! and the people running the boat were absolutely lovely. But my strong advise is if you specifically want to see sharks as advertised, this isnt the right one!
