What you can expect
Drive your own boat on an organised 2.5 hour grand tour around Sydney Harbour and get close-up views of all the iconic highlights. If you’re up for stunning views and an exciting adventure, why not put your captain hat on and drive a boat yourself around the harbour? With no boat licence or experience necessary, you can get behind the wheel of a small and speedy boat and see the sights as part of an organised tour.
There’s space for one driver and one passenger in each boat, and it’s an easy but thrilling ride. Your adventure will kick off with a boat safety and operations briefing, with a bit of quick training to get you comfortable operating your own boat. During your 2.5 hours on the water you’ll follow an experienced and knowledgeable guide around the Sydney sights.
On the grand tour you’ll get close-up views of all the most famous and beautiful Sydney landmarks. Drive below the Harbour Bridge, past the Sydney Opera House, and enjoy Darling Harbour from the water. Further out from the CBD you’ll admire the upscale residential areas in Rose Bay, Mosman Bay, Lavender Bay, Double Bay and the Point Piper mansions, see the massive navy ships in Garden Island, cruise past Shark Island and Clark Island and more.

Departure Location
- The tours start from Rose Bay boat ramp which you can easily reach by ferry, or car, as well as by buses 323, 324, and 325.
- The F4 Cross Harbour Ferry gets you from Circular Quay to Rose Bay in 10 minutes. Alternatively, take an Uber from the CBD for approximately $20.
What To Bring
- Casual clothes and shoes that you are comfortable getting wet from some spray
- Sunscreen and a tight-fitting hat are recommended
