Highlights

Feel the rod bend as trout and salmon strike
Master new techniques with expert, patient coaching
Take home your catch, cleaned and filleted

What you can expect

Grab a rod for a three-hour guided fishing charter on Lake Wānaka, targeting rainbow trout, brown trout and quinnat salmon in season with a local skipper. Within 15 to 30 minutes of leaving Wānaka Marina, you’re on productive grounds with up to three lines in the water and the Southern Alps towering overhead.

Your skipper reads the conditions and mixes up trolling, downrigging, spinning and jigging to find the bite. First-timers get patient coaching, while seasoned anglers tap straight into hard-earned local knowledge. Snacks and drinks keep you fuelled aboard a heated custom hardtop, and any catch kept within NZ bag limits is cleaned and filleted for you to take home. Departures at 9am or 2pm for a maximum of six guests.
