Where is Kangaroo Island? 

Kangaroo Island is approximately 13 kilometres (8 miles) off the coast of South Australia and 110 kilometres (70 miles) south-west of Adelaide. You can get there by catching a flight or boarding a ferry.  

Getting from Adelaide to Kangaroo Island

The fastest way from Adelaide to Kangaroo Island is by air and flights take around 30 minutes. You can also travel by ferry. Take a coach or drive to Cape Jervis, around 90 minutes south of Adelaide, then board the ferry for a crossing of around 30 to 45 minutes. You can travel as a foot passenger or take your own car on the ferry – it’s a great place for a self-drive holiday.
