Head out into the snow-covered Kosciuszko National Park on an exciting five day snowshoe expedition. You'll be under the wing of expert mountain guides with all essential expedition gear, meals and transfers provided, so all you need to do is turn up ready for the challenge. Make your way through incredible alpine wilderness, enjoy two nights at the Lake Crakenback Resort and two nights at an alpine snow camp, and learn alpine survival skills.
On day one, you will arrive at the Resort and take the day to relax and make use of the lakeside facilities, before being run through
an equipment and safety briefing. On day two, you'll begin a
t the Thredbo Valley Terminal where you will ride up the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift to Eagles Nest, Australia's highest restaurant at 1937m. Admire the sweeping views before strapping into your snowshoes and heading into the winter wilderness. By day's end, you'll set up camp at Cootapatamba Hut.
Day three sees you learn a number of alpine skills such as how to self arrest using an ice axe to help you navigate up to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko. Standing tall at 2228m high, you will have uninterrupted views of the snow-coated Main Range and the Great Dividing Range. Return to basecamp for a final snow camp dinner.
On day four you will head back to Eagles Nest, descend down toward Thredbo Village via the chairlift and enjoy a celebration dinner at the Resort. On your last day, you're free to explore the alpine region at your own leisure. The return shuttle departs at 10am.
