Take your chance at hooking a snapper, whiting, salmon and other season species - they are all just a cast away! During your fishing trip, you will also enjoy a sausage sizzle lunch.
Go fishing for the freshest catch of the season, such as snapper, flathead, whiting and more. It’s an easy five-minute walk from St Kilda to board your fishing charter. Even if you’ve never fished before, you’ll receive a full safety briefing and instructions before you leave port. Everything is taken care of with all bait, tackle, rods and reels provided.
Onboard, you have all the facilities you need including, marine toilets and a large ice box for everyone to use. While there are no guarantees of catching fish or perfect weather conditions on the day, the crew will maximise your chances by giving you helpful instructions. Plus, the boat is equipped with the latest fish-finding and GPS equipment for locating fishing hotspots.
The captain will keep you entertained with his passion and in-depth knowledge of fishing, life at sea and the marine environment. When it’s time for lunch, enjoy the cool sea breeze and a BBQ sausage sizzle. BYO canned beers (limit of 2 per person). Plus, all the fish you catch will be cleaned and bagged for you to take home.
All customers will receive a text message 5pm the night before their confirmed date to confirm the trip is going ahead after the weather forecast has been issued. Please check with the office on 9882 2061 if you are travelling from country Victoria.
Getting there: This boat departs from St. Kilda Pier (NOT THE MARINA), at 1 Pier Road St Kilda. Walk to the end of the pier then turn right at the cafe and look for Melbourne Fishing Charters signs at the end of the bridge. Paid parking is available at the St Kilda Sea Baths off Jacka Boulevard.
You MUST have a fishing licence to go on this fishing trip. Licences can be purchased from most Shell service stations or online at http://www.dpi.vic.gov.au/dpi/index.htm. A license will cost $10 per person and has a three-day validity. It’s best to purchase your licence the day before, once your charter fishing trip is confirmed.
Trips depart at 10.30am from September to December and at 11.30am (or an hour earlier depending on the weather) from January to May. Allow 5 hours for the entire trip and arrive at least 15 minutes before the departure time to avoid delays.
In the event of extreme weather like high winds or swell, the trip may be cancelled. If that happens, the provider will contact you directly to reschedule the trip, no refunds are available. Please provide a preferred contact number at the time of booking so that the provider can contact you if needed.
Changes or cancellations after bookings are confirmed must be arranged directly with the experience provider in line with their policy:
Rescheduling is allowed with at least a 48-hour notice. No shows and late arrivals will forfeit their booking.
