We’ll walk through the welcoming courtyard, past kitchen gardens which grow vegetables and herbs for the kitchen, and into the spacious cellar door. You’ll be able to taste about six wines here, and it’s usually the sparkling Ophelia, a Pinot Grigio, Pinot Gris, the famous Holystone Rose, a Pinot Noir and perhaps a Shiraz, with a Moscato to finish. In winter, our riders are always drawn to the big open fire.
Mantons Creek is a beautiful little winery, snuggled into a valley with a rose garden and vines in front, and huge trees protecting the vineyards. The 19-acre property was previously an orchard, herb farm and horse stud before it was developed as a vineyard in the 1990’s, producing the highest quality maritime, cool climate wines made entirely from estate grown Mornington Peninsula fruit.
Green Olive at Red Hill
Green Olive at Red Hill is a vibrant, busy estate, with a vineyard, vegetable gardens, olive grove and a farm shop that’s usually filled with delicious aromas of bread from the woodfired oven. It really is like a little working farm, as they raise sheep, chooks and fish, and turn produce from local farmers into the Green Olive own range of food. It’s a real ‘farm to fork’ property.
MOCK Red Hill
In 1895, the Mock family planted their first orchard just outside Melbourne. Four generations later, they continue to grow apples in the picturesque hinterland of Red Hill. The Mock family became pioneers within the Bio-Dynamic movement in Australia when their orchard was first certified in 1974. Today the family continues to nurture and nourish the same certified orchard, creating a unique range of Bio-Dynamic products.
Prince Hollow Estate
Prince Hollow Estate is very unique site that has shown to produce the grapes of utmost power and intensity. A relatively cool and dry microclimate exists through a combination of a West facing aspect and a drying wind tunnel effect of the Main Ridge Valley. Under these conditions the vines struggle and fight to produce small quantities of incredibly powerful fruit. Big flavour, big tannins and power rare to the Mornington Peninsula.
