Hop on board for a cruise from Perth to explore the historic port city of Fremantle. You can enjoy your free time in Fremantle however you please maybe visit the Round House or the new Maritime museum before returning to the boat for a cruise back to Perth!
Departing from Perth at 9.30am or 11.15am, you will cruise down the scenic Swan River taking in the wonderful Perth skyline. Docking at Fremantle’s ‘B Shed’ jetty, you will have the chance – at your own pace – to explore the historic port city that is fondly named ‘Freo’ by locals.
Wake up with a coffee at one of the many shops on the legendary Cappuccino Strip or take a wander around the boutique shops before you take in the sights on your Fremantle tour. Discover the history of Fremantle and Perth through various attractions – walk down to the Fishing Boat Harbour, see the Round House, the oldest standing building in WA, or do your time with a tour of the infamous Fremantle Prison which began by housing convicts from 1840s Britain. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays you can enjoy the bustle of the popular Fremantle Markets. Freo is also home to the Western Australian Maritime Museum and the Motor Museum – perfect destinations to learn and have fun!
After some hours spent in Fremantle soaking up the fascinating history, beautiful views and the local life, you will board the return boat at 3.45pm, to arrive back in Perth for 5pm.

Captain Cook Cruises operate from Piers 1, 2 and 3 located in Barrack Square, Perth. When driving to this location, it’s recommended to park at Perth Concert Hall, Governers Avenue, which is just 5 minutes’ walk to the boat. If taking public transport, catch the number 19 Blue Cat from many stops around Perth CBD – both this bus and trams drop off at Barrack Square regularly.
The Fremantle Explorer Cruise will depart from Perth daily at 9.30am and 11.15am, returning to Perth for around 5pm. Weekend dates throughout the summer months will be busy so it’s recommended to book at least 2 weeks in advance. All booking dates and times are subject to availability.
Your Fremantle Explorer Cruise may be affected by bad weather. Your experience provider will contact you if your tour is cancelled.
Once your booking has been confirmed, any changes must be made directly with your experience provider at their discretion. Their rescheduling and cancellation policy is as follows: There is no charge to reschedule over 72 hours prior to your booking date. Within 72 hours of your booking date, you are not permitted to reschedule.
