Being in the water with these massive, gentle whales was absolutely humbling. Watching them glide past so effortlessly was unreal—it’s something I’ll never forget. Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Swimming with Humpback Whales

The experience was wonderful. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see any whales under the water on the day we went out, however, there was loads of activity on the surface with whales, dolphins and a turtle. The crew on the boat are awesome and keep you updated all day on where to sight the whales and when it's safe to get in the water. As with all wildlife encounters, everything is on their terms and you need to be ok with that.

Swimming with Whales

Had a lovely time with Aubree, got to see lots of whales. Swimming with whales was hard as they were on the move but I was lucky enough to swim with mum and her baby in the end. Dolphins and turtles were out and about also! Thank you 🤩

What you can expect

Experience the thrill of swimming with majestic humpback whales on Australia's Sunshine Coast during whale season. Departing from Mooloolaba, this four-hour adventure includes a whale watching cruise and the chance to gear up with provided wetsuits and snorkelling equipment for an unforgettable underwater encounter. Once a whale is spotted, the boat will stop at a safe distance, and swimmers can enter the water, holding onto a floating line attached to the vessel. While the encounter is on the whales' terms, their natural curiosity often brings them closer. Although sightings can't be guaranteed, guests receive 50% off their next trip if no whales are sighted.

Too much boat traffic

We were not as lucky as in the videos, too many boats around (despite it was just a tuesday) and the whales were not staying around and either approaching by themselves
