If you want the sheer thrill and excitement of a full day canyoning adventure without a cold dip then this winter canyon is the pick! Amazing lost world style scenery, lots of abseiling, scrambling and canyon trekking while staying dry makes this canyon trip a unique adventure.
This full-day out in the Blue Mountains is the perfect option if you’re seeking a winter canyoning adventure. You’ll complete four exciting and unique abseils of up to 25m during the day, plus plenty of canyon trekking and scrambling, while enjoying some incredible scenery.
Your adventure will take place in the The World Heritage Area of the Gardens Of Stone National Park, north of Katoomba. Canyons here are narrower and there are stunning rock pagodas and sandstone cliffs.
It’s a great choice for anyone with previous abseiling experience wanting to try it again in a wilderness canyon with some impressive rock formations. A trip highlight is the day’s last abseil, taking you through a hole in the ground into a deep, dark slot.
This particular canyon is ideal for use during the winter months, as only a small amount now flows through it, and the water catchment long eroded in to the Wolgan Valley. It’s perfect for a physically challenging day out and some great bushwalking in an often-missed area of the Blue Mountains.
