Get set for an awesome day of adventure canyoning in the beautiful Blue Mountains.
Get ready for a day like no other you’ve experienced before (unless you been canyoning before). This is a day full of fun in a truly unique setting. You will be geared up in a wetsuit and helmet and be led by our expert guides along the canyon floor by either walking, swimming, jumping or sliding depending on the depth of the water.
The Blue Mountains is a beautiful area and some of its most spectacular sights are hidden away from the bus tours – the canyons have been created over thousands of years as the creek gradually erodes areas of soft sandstone leaving high walls on either side, spectacular boulders and creating a natural playground of water slides and jumps.
You will also get a tasty picnic lunch to keep your energy levels up for the rest of the day.
A “debriefing” in one of the Katoomba pubs isn’t mandatory but is highly recommended!
Depending on the conditions on the day and National Parks restrictions you will experience either Sheep Dip and Rocky Creek, Wollangambe or Fortress.
No previous experience is required.
WEATHER: Outdoor programs are weather dependent, it will be up to the trip leaders discretion to decide if the trip will be cancelled. When evaluating weather conditions our client’s safety is of the utmost importance. Remember the weather in the mountains can be very different to that in Sydney. The trip will go ahead unless you are notified.
TRANSPORT: The guides will be using a vehicle to transport equipment to the start of the trip. It may be possible for you to travel in that vehicle, otherwise you are welcome to take your own vehicle. You can travel to Katoomba via: · Trains from Sydney Central Station which run regularly (allow 2 hours travel time). · Call 131 500 for information on timetables or check out the City Rail website- http://www.cityrail.info, or · If you wish to drive from Sydney take the M4 and follow the signs to Katoomba (allow 1 ¾ hours travel time)
AVAILABILITY: Wet Canyons like Empress Falls operate from October - April, although dry canyon tours are offered all year round.
It was absolutely incredible! I've never seen such a beautiful part of Australia and I would go back and do it all again tomorrow. It was a fantastic trip that was planned and executed well. I felt safe the entire time and also felt that I have accomplished something because I was challenging my fear of heights (even though I slid off all the high waterfalls). I would recommend this adrenalin adventure to anyone!
Fantastic day out, well run and safe
I had a fantastic day, the team were very easy to deal with and the value was great.
