Seeing a place should be more than just hopping on and off a bus. Stop, get active, and really explore the Great Ocean Road on this epic small group day tour.
Departing from Melbourne in the early morning, you’ll hit the road in a group of eight people maximum and head straight to the iconic 12 Apostles before the crowds arrive. Here you’ll stroll along the boardwalk for about a kilometre, while soaking up the views of the towering limestone stacks. Keep walking and head down the Gibson Steps, a 70 meter cliffside pathway to a pristine beach.
Next stop is a local cafe for lunch before you drive through the Great Otway National Park. Wander through lush ancient rainforests on a leisurely three kilometre hike that takes you to the secluded Beauchamp Falls. The benefit of exploring on foot is that you get active and get to see sights like Beauchamp Falls that big bus companies can’t go to.
On your tour you’ll also take a stroll through the towering Californian Redwood forest, stop at Apollo Bay and Lorne along the Great Ocean Road, and have opportunities for optional swims and ice cream stops. Finally you’ll visit Kennett River, where you might spot some of the local koalas, kangaroos, and king parrots going about their business. It’s an action-packed day that puts the adventure back into sightseeing.
