Whether you’re a certified scuba diver or you’re just keen to give diving a go, this four-night boat tour is the perfect way to make the most out of the Great Barrier Reef. Onboard you can dive up to five times in one day (certified) and spend some serious quality time among the colourful reef world and abundance of marine life that call it home - including the minke whales!
The minke whale expedition is the highlight of the year and only runs in June and July when the amazing creatures gather in the Ribbon Reefs. The tour has a success rate of over 90% when it comes to whale interactions, and the dwarf minke whales tend to stick around the vessel and swimmers for about two hours on average - though they can last a lot longer too!
During your stay you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy scuba dive experiences that range from an early morning dive where you watch the reef wake up, to an after dark night dive to see some nocturnal marine life. Swim with the harmless (but numerous) reef sharks, or just observe them up close from on board. You’ll also have the opportunity to opt in for a fluoro dive or nitrox dive, at an extra cost.
The minke whale diving expeditions sell out quickly so book in advance to grab a spot! Between scuba diving, kicking back with a drink on a sun lounger, and watching the sun rise over the Great Barrier Reef, it doesn’t get much better than this.
