If you’re up for a wet and wild New Zealand adventure, white water rafting down the grade 5 rapids on Wairoa River is an absolute must-do. You’ll jump into the raft with expert guides for about 1.5-2 hours of tackling some of the most exciting white water action in New Zealand.
You can either be picked up from Rotorua on the North Island or meet at Wairoa River for your white water rafting expedition, where you’ll be briefed and set up to get on the water. Once aboard the raft, you’ll take on the whole of the river, which includes "Mother's Nightmare", "The Rollercoaster", "Devil’s Cauldron", "Bottom Drop", and "The Waterfall".
Get ready for the adrenaline rush as you approach Mother’s Nightmare, a technical grade 4 rock garden that’s followed by a sudden two-metre drop. Then The Rollercoaster will get your blood pumping as you experience Devil’s Cauldron and the breath-taking Bottom Drop. Prepare for an exhilarating three-metre drop as you rush down The Waterfall and into a churning pool of white water.
You’ll also be treated to a light lunch and refreshments by the river to top off your explosive adventure through the Wairoa River rock canyon.
Please note: Due to Wairoa being dam release, this tour only runs on select days throughout the year as indicated on the booking calendar.
