Fantastic morning on the water!
What a fantastic morning on the water with Andy! Although the wind forecast was not super favourable, we managed to get our paddle in and only cut short by around 40 mins. It was a magic morning heading across to the island at sunrise, watching for any kind of marine life, so relaxing and peaceful out on the water. Exploring a little around the island and seeing the state of the old resort there was super interesting and sad to see the decline. Andy is very knowledgeable and very professional in that he was checking the wind conditions constantly. I have already referred a friend to this tour and we would definitely go again! Thanks Andy for a super morning out!
What you can expect
The most exciting way to explore the Great Barrier Reef is to get out on the water and up close to the marine world beneath the surface. And the best way to do that is kayaking.
Your experience begins in a picturesque spot at the south end of Palm Cove, where your friendly guides will get you ready for your paddling session. Then set out from the pristine sandy shores and leave the palm trees behind you as you begin your kayak to Double Island. It’s about a 20-30 minute paddle to Double Island through crystal clear water, so you can check out the bustling marine life below you as you go.
Once you arrive at Double Island you’ll have plenty of time to explore the reef, enjoy the colourful marine world and get up close and personal with tropical species like eagle rays, shovelnose sharks, mangrove rays, colourful fish and sea turtles. With a paddle in your hands and aquatic life under your kayak, it’s a completely exhilarating way to experience the Great Barrier Reef. You’re in control, so go wherever you like.
Soak up the feeling of gliding across the water as you finish up your kayaking tour with a paddle back to Palm Cove. This is the perfect opportunity to get active and get an unforgettable reef experience.

- This tour departs from 73 Williams Esplanade, Palm Cove QLD 4879. Palm Cove is a 25 minute drive north of Cairns City. This is a shuttle bus service and there is also public transport available.

- A minimum of two participants is required for this experience to run, and there will be a maximum of 14
- Minimum age for participants is eight years
Cancellation Policy
- A 15% cancellation fee will apply to any booking cancelled prior to 48 hours notice of the booking date.
- A 50% refund will be given to customers that cancel their tour or lessons 24 hours – 48 hours before the date of the tour.
- Any customer who cancels their tour or lesson less than 24 hours before the commencement time, or fails to attend a tour or lesson will not be refunded.

Stunning Sunrise + Clear Water - Close distance
Photos don't do justice for how stunning the sunrise was that morning! The island is close for anyone that is thinking they cant paddle that far. Water is crystal clear around the island and if you pay attention, you'll spot turtles popping its head up in the water. Back on shore, there are public toilets for you to shower and refresh. Highly recommend booking and going for breakfast afterwards along the esplanade (Beach Hut Cafe - was great) Great morning start to the day.
