Interstate visitors to the Whitsundays may find it easiest to fly to Whitsunday Coast Airport, located to the south of Proserpine, with several airlines flying here. Whitsunday Coast Airport to Airlie Beach is a 30-40 minute journey by road and there are a range of options to take you to your accommodation, including airport shuttle and taxis.
Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays are north of Brisbane and south of Cairns, with Airlie Beach around 20km off the Bruce Highway. There is also the option of catching the train, with rail services from Cairns to Brisbane (and vice versa) stopping off in Proserpine. Be aware though these can be long journeys that may require a sleeping booth!
