Head out into the incredible Tasmanian wilderness on an exciting six day hike on the famous Overland Track. You'll be under the wing of expert guides with all tickets, permits and your main gear provided, so all you need to do is get ready to tackle the trail. Make your way through incredible scenery, with options to go the extra mile and add side trips like the Cradle Mountain summit or Mount Ossa if you're up for the challenge.
One day one you'll be picked from Launceston and make your way to start your 10km walk at Ronny Creek in Cradle Valley. Head up to Marion’s Lookout for amazing views and continue on to end up in Waterfall Valley to camp for the night. If weather and time allow, there is also the opportunity to summit Cradle Mountain. On day two you'll head to Lake Windermere on an 8km trek, with the opportunity to climb Barn Bluff if conditions are right.
Day three is the longest walking day, covering about 17km as you make your way past the lookout at Forth Gorge and on to the Old and New Pelion Hut. Day four begins with a gradual climb up to Pelion Gap (1126m), and if the weather is right there's the option to climb either Mt Pelion or Mt Ossa, Tasmania’s highest peak at 1617 metres.
You'll end up at Kia Ora Hut, and on day five make your way through myrtle beech rainforest to Du Cane Hut, see the falls of D’Alton, Fergusson and Hartnett, climb steadily to Du Cane Gap (1070m), then down to Windy Ridge Hut, totalling about 10km.
On day six you'll tackle another 10km, heading down to the Narcissus River, and finishing the Overland Track at Lake St Clair. At the end of your incredible trekking adventure you'll be taken back to Launceston in the evening.
