Grab a paddle and get in the water for a kayaking adventure down Perth’s Canning River. These lush wetlands are right in the heart of Perth, but feels like a world away from the surrounding city life. Enjoy the exhilaration of getting away and into a kayak for a three hour paddling tour.
Heading out from the Old Riverton Bridge, your guide will lead you around the twists and channels of the seemingly untouched Canning River Wetlands. Stop for a cafe break at Kent Street Weir before hopping back into your kayaks for the return journey, which follows a slightly different route.
You’ll be able get your heart rate up with your paddling session without enduring anything too challenging, as the water is still and the pace is leisurely. Keep an eye out along the way for the abundance of wildlife that calls the wetlands home and listen as your guide talks you through some historical and cultural information about the area.
