Have you been waiting to tick Skydiving off your bucket list?

“Nope, nope, nope. I can’t do. Take this plane back down. I am not jumping.”

Nothing quite prepares you for plunging headfirst out of a perfectly good aircraft from 15,000 feet. But once you’re free-falling all of that fear and doubt rushes away and you give yourself over to the incredible experience that is skydiving. In no time the chute is up and you’re floating, exhilarated, like a bird.

There are a number of different styles of skydiving to choose from and each and every type of experience is designed to provide the ultimate in gravity-defying exhilaration.  Here are our expert insights to help get the juices flowing…

Tandem jumps

Tandem skydiving involves a 60-second free fall accompanied by a trained instructor from up to 15,000 feet above sea level. Once you’ve experienced the heart-pounding ascent from your moving aircraft, you’ll float like a bird under the canopy for up to seven minutes, absorbing spectacular scenery before your soft landing on terra firma. Adrenaline provides great deals on skydiving packages to suit all levels, preferences and experiences. There are midweek and weekend tandem packages across a number of breathtaking locations.

The fortunate part about a tandem jump is that you’re physically strapped to an instructor and once it’s time to tumble out of that open door, you have no choice but to just go with the flow. Unlike bungy jumping where you have to use your own free will to physically step off the platform, when it comes to a tandem skydive, you’re in the hand (and arms) of an experienced instructor, and from 15,000 feet every word sounds a lot like “go!”.

Indoor skydiving

This might not be the ‘real thing’, but it’s an incredibly adrenaline-filled and challenging experience that will have you screaming, “Woohoo!!”. And the best bit is, you get to enjoy multiple turns, getting better and better each time. At iFLY Indoor skydive centres throughout Australia, which are leaders in their field for state-of-the-art technology and the military precision of their equipment, you will be buoyed by the rush of wind tunnels in ultra-safe, state-of-the-art surrounds, with maximum exhilaration and without extensive waiting times. Once you experience indoor skydiving at one of these premium, custom-built centres, you’ll understand why this sport is so addictive.

Accelerated free fall

This is fastest way to experience tandem free fall from thousands of feet on the air. You’ll be safely and effortlessly covered by one or sometimes two trained instructors, who are dedicated solely to you. Adrenaline offer accelerated free-fall courses that are the first step to becoming a licensed skydiver. There are nine stages and you’ll be landing your own parachute and completing solo jumps faster than you can scream “woohoo!”.

 Solo jumps

This is the big leagues. A solo skydive is for truly sky-bound brave hearts. This style of skydiving entails leaping from a plane, at one with the air and atmosphere, for a free fall of up to one minute before floating down to earth under your parachute canopy for up to seven minutes. Solo skydiving is the ultimate personal thrill, and you are required to attain a certain level of skydiving experience before embarking on a breathtaking ascent with just you, your chute and the sky as a witness.

Adrenaline offers a range of skydiving activities, Australia-wide, which are designed to be experienced in maximum safety with ultimate thrill levels. Whether it’s tandem skydiving over the beach, indoors skydiving, night or day - the choice and location is yours.  And with more than 100 skydiving experiences across the country, there’s something for everyone. The only catch is, you will need to jump to really get the full experience…
