This two hour trail ride is suitable for all experience levels, whether you’re an advanced rider or you’ve never mounted a horse before. The exhilaration of horse riding out in the fresh air is unbeatable.
About two hours outside of Melbourne, Bunyip State Park is the perfect spot for a leisurely trail ride. It’s a varied landscape made up mostly of lush forest and swampy heathland, and your instructor will lead you on a meandering path through the quintessential rugged bushland.
Before heading out, the experienced guides will demonstrate the basics of riding a horse and match you with a horse suitable to your size and ability. Horse riding help is available at any time throughout your trail ride, and there are opportunities to trot and canter depending on what you can handle and what you feel up to!
You’ll start in the foothills of the national park, heading for the bush and eventually making a stop at ‘Ryders Lookout’. This cliff face lookout point is the perfect photo opportunity to capture the amazing scenery and a memento of your horse riding adventure.
