Do you have to v8 hot lap with a professional race car driver?
Yes. During hot laps a professional race car driver takes the wheel while you enjoy the ride in the passenger seat. You’ll be perfectly positioned to hear the roar of the engine and take in every twist and turn of the track. These six-speed Commodore or Monaro V8 supercars are seriously powerful machines and can accelerate to 100km/h in a matter of seconds. Your driver will push the speedometer to its limit, so hold on tight, this is a journey you’ll never forget.
If your V8 experience includes laps with you driving, an experienced race driver will take the passenger seat. This is partly for safety reasons, but also to make sure you get the most out of the experience. They’ll give you a briefing and run through full course tuition before letting you put it all into practice.
The driver will also be on hand to give you useful advice on everything from braking and gear changes to cornering and apexes. You’ll be impressed at what you’re capable of with a little expert guidance.
Where is Symmons Plains?
Symmons Plains Raceway is located around 30 kilometres south of Launceston. It’s Tasmania’s premier motor racing circuit. At 2.4 kilometres it has seven corners, including the famed turn four – Brambles Hairpin. It’s one of the longest serving tracks on the V8 Supercar Championship Series and Australian Touring Car Championship. It’s also the perfect spot for visitors to enjoy V8 driving and hot laps experiences!
