Cruise the famous turquoise waters of Rottnest Island and have a go at catching your own lobster to complement a sumptuous seafood lunch.
Two things that Western Australia is renowned for are the picturesque tropical paradise that is Rottnest Island, and the delicious Western Rock Lobster. The good news is, you can enjoy both these draw cards with one epic day tour that includes cruising around the island and indulging in a seafood lunch.
You’ll kick off your day nice and early at about 8:25am with a scenic 90 minute ferry journey from Perth to Rottnest Island. Once you arrive you’ll have a bit of free time to explore the island on foot before it’s time to board a modern charter vessel and cruise the coastline. On board you’ll be welcomed with canapes and a glass of sparkling to accompany the dazzling coastal views of secluded sandy shores and crystal blue water. The crew will provide expert commentary about the landscape and the cultural history as you cruise.
During your 2.5 hour cruise adventure you’ll have the opportunity to pull in baited pots of live Western Rock Lobsters and get involved in collecting the goods for your seafood lunch. You can help to size the crays and learn about Western Australia’s crayfish conservation efforts before mooring the boat at the picturesque Longreach Bay or Parakeet bay.
It’s time for lunch! You’ll enjoy a hearty seafood lunch that’s cooked fresh on board before you, including blue swimmer crab, salmon, marinated octopus, seafood skewers, teriyaki-style fish tacos, freshly shucked oysters, garden salad, and, of course, your freshly-caught crayfish. Plus, you’ll finish with chocolate brownies for dessert and have unlimited local beer, wine and soft drinks to enjoy throughout the cruise.
After lunch you can either lounge on the deck, or go swimming or snorkeling off the boat. There are also fishing rods and bait available on prior request. Between the seafood feast and the delights of Rottnest Island, this is an unbeatable way to spend a day.
