How much is indoor skydiving?
The price of your indoor skydive depends on when you want to go and what exactly is included in the package. For example, two flights on a weekday are likely to cost less than four flights at the weekend. If you want to add extras like a flight wearing a VR headset, this typically also costs more. Is indoor skydiving worth it?
We love indoor skydiving and we think you will too. But don’t just take our word for it, these experiences are one of our best sellers, regularly attracting positive reviews and return customers.
As anyone who has done both an indoor skydive and an outdoor skydive will tell you, stepping inside the wind tunnel is about as close as you can get to the real thing. There’s a good reason why the military used these kinds of facilities to allow aerialists to practice freefall.
The feeling of freefall is exhilarating. It’s unusual, but in the best possible way. After all, it’s not every day you can float on air. It’s an ideal all-weather activity too, no holds ups or delays to these skydives because the weather isn’t playing ball.
How do indoor skydiving tunnels work?
So, how do wind tunnels work? Here’s the science bit in (very) simple terms: Electric fans at the top of the tunnel draw air through the flight chamber, this is pushed back down the sides in Return Air Towers. Air is then sent back up through the tunnel via an inlet contractor. The air has less space to travel in, so is compressed and sped up before going back in to the chamber. This creates a smooth column of air, which is powerful enough to lift anyone who steps inside. Got it? Either way, you can rest assured you’re in safe hands with the team at iFly.

If you choose to slip on a VR headset for a virtual reality skydive, this is also likely to cost a little extra… but also potentially a lot more fun and realism!
